Seeing the wood for the trees

Selecting a coaching company is a tricky business. Coaching sits in a crowded space. There is no requirement to be qualified. The industry is weighed down with negative perceptions. It often receives poor press and runs the gauntlet of some business folk. So how do you choose?

Practical experience is critical
Look for practical business experience. This is essential. Otherwise, it’s a bit like dipping into a jar of fortune cookies and hoping the snippets of wisdom from a coach, send you in the right direction.

Put simply, if you want a coach to work with managers of your organisation, choose a coach who has held senior roles in a sizeable company in the past. If you’re looking for help to grow a small business, make sure your coach has entrepreneurial experience. If you want to motivate and improve performance in a sales team, hire a coach who understands or has worked in sales.

At TMS we tick all these boxes and others too but don’t take
our word for it - ask!
